Released just in time for Halloween, bleec’s ‘Wicca’ is a colorful piece of pop inspired by European myths that is bound to leave a smile on your face with its mix of freeform, explosive beats, charming lyrics, and confident deliveries.
bleec is Ben Cope, a 28-year-old singer and songwriter who hails from Zurich, Switzerland, and his sound on his latest, Halloween-inspired alternative pop cut is totally fresh and wholly unique. ‘Wicca’ tells the story of a man falling in love with a witch, and the rhythm of the song is an ample display of the kind of upset that could happen if one fell in love with a witch.
The song features a simply insane rhythmic composition that goes from gentle, acoustic, melodic art pop to explosive, experimental, and time-warping wizardry with little to no prior notice, just on a whim, the song loses all sense of order for parts that are quite deliciously mad. Those sections are so intense that they help make the remaining parts fun and charming through contrast.
The duality contained within bleec’s ‘Wicca’ tells of an outstanding musical mind who is in full control of his craft and flow, going from sweet and gentle to quite enchanted within the span of 2 bars is no easy thing to pull off, but bleec does so, easily, and far more than once on ‘Wicca’.
