Big Mountain County releases their new single, “Where Are You”. A new hyperbolic, abstract sound within the realm of Rock.
The song already has over 21K listens on Spotify and is no wonder since they are a unique find and a band to watch out for.
The structure of “Where Are You” is very compelling. The vocals are thick, although muffed and faded out, adding structure and volume to the brassy sound of the song. Yet, at times, you can also hear the singer howling along with the strident guitars and hurdling drums.
Meanwhile, the drums and guitars play around making a sound as if you were being transported to a garage where you’d be listening to your crash blast their music off.
It is almost impossible to put a label on Big Mountain County music, it is a mix of classic rock with more futuristic tech beats, almost kind of like Gorillaz. Yet, the singer’s vocals are more “down-to-earth”, still keeping a distant mystery.
The song definitely leaves you off with a sense of wonderment, asking yourself “where am I”, and carrying you through a bunch of undefined emotions.
Big Mountain County was born in Rome, Italy, in 2012. They are a four-person band of four talented musicians that play wild rock ‘n’ roll with a complete DIY flavor.
