Maintaining the rituals of Britpop seems to be what Jacob Reddy took upon his shoulders when he set off to create Wear The Crown, his latest, jangly, and fresh single release.

A Blackburn native through and through, Jacob Reddy is a singer and songwriter of dynamic, energetic indie pop music who’s already a nationwide busking star, having finished a tour of England. Fresh off of writing a whole new anthem for Blackburn Rovers FC, which gets played not at every home match, and having had his single ‘King’ named ‘Song Of The Year 2022’ by ‘Songs Behind The Music’, he set out to craft a brand new pop jingle that’s upbeat, thoughtful, hopeful, and exciting. Enter ‘Wear The Crown’.

The song’s excess cheer, courtesy of a bright chord progression, effervescent, fizzy overdriven rhythm guitar, a groovy bass and drums section, and Reddy’s fun and present vocal delivery all make this song one of the happiest tracks that we’ll get exposed to for many weeks, at the least. Jacob’s vocals are shock full of soul and panache. A talented performer, his energy is infectious and gets carried across effortlessly via his delivery alone.

Wear The Crown is a cheerful and immaculately produced new piece of indie pop that highlights its singer’s many skills. Those of arranging, singing, and songwriting. It’s a bright piece of music that can offer invaluable help as we prepare for the summer season.
