LA-based artist Eddie Cohn is gearing up to launch his second single, “Wave Goodbye,” on March 22, 2024, following the success of his debut single earlier this year.
Eddie composed, recorded, and performed the vibrant rock anthem “Wave Goodbye.” I am truly impressed by his exceptional skills and professionalism in blending synth, guitar, and piano with his emotive vocals to create such a dynamic song. Additionally, Brett Farkas’s guitar line added an exciting element to give us that beloved rock vibe. Let’s not forget the solid rhythm provided by Dan Lutz (Bass) and Jake Reed (Drums and Percussion) that contributed to the 80’s rock essence with a modern touch. Speaking of music, the mixing and mastering by Kevin Penner played a crucial role in shaping this unique rock anthem.
I believe that “Wave Goodbye” offers a unique rock mix that sets it apart from other acts this year. After reviewing the press kit, I discovered that the artist was influenced by grunge, hard rock, glam, post-punk, and alternative genres. In his own words, he shared, “I was heavily influenced by the grunge era of the 90s but I also grew up loving 80’s bands like INXS and Men at Work and I love a good pop song. I’m obviously a big fan of the vocal stylings of Eddie Vedder and Alice in Chains and I also loved how Alice in Chains incorporated a lot of vocal harmonies in their songs. I’m also a HUGE fan of U2 and the guitar-playing wizardry of the Edge.” – as explained by Eddie.
Needless to say, the lead vocals and background vocals on this track are absolutely breathtaking! “I think for this song, I wanted to try a different style of vocal layering where there’s voices responding to each other in the song.” – Eddie Cohn.
If you’re after a rock sound that combines the essence of The Pixies, INXS, Alice in Chains, and even U2, look no further than the emerging rock sensation, Eddie Cohn.
