Chucky Trading Co is the brainchild of songwriter CS Taber and producer Everett Young. Since December 2021, the duo released 15 singles, and with their latest Tumbleweeds out on the 1st of May 2023, the guys are telling the story from “The end of the cowboy era on the American prairie. Brothers in search of a future in a modern era they don’t understand.” as they described the song’s theme. Let me tell you more about it.
Chucky Trading Co opened Tumbleweeds with warm yet powerful piano melodies, and soothing vocals, setting up the perfect mood for such a heartwarming tune. The mellow guitar chords and subtle percussions softly painted Tumbleweeds’ atmospheric sound, adding an extra emotional layer and making me close my eyes picturing our protagonists as they ride one last time towards the setting sun. The vocal melody is mesmerizing, it gently guided the song’s dynamics as the song progresses toward bigger, brighter sound with beautiful harmonies. Tumbleweeds has a swaying groovy structure led by a deep heart-hitting bassline and of course, those sweet percussions, as they go alongside the piano, guitars, and vocals like a perfect stream of melodies.
Tumbleweeds is a bitter-sweet emotional ballad, it shows Chucky Trading Co’s fluid from-the-heart writing and their well-knowledge of their sound and direction.
