Trupa Trupa (TT) a polish rock band, which was formed in 2009 and released their first album on 2015 after signing with X-Ray Records.
The band is intensely influenced by the classic rock ages in general and especially by Pink Floyd and The Beatles which is very clear to anyone played the album.
Trupa Trupa consists of four members:
Grzegorz Kwiatkowski – guitar, vocal
Wojciech Juchniewicz – bass, guitar, vocal
Rafał Wojczal – keyboard, guitar
Tomek Pawluczuk – drums
Headache is a flashing record, it has some great ideas and musical backgrounds but it just doesn’t have the magical tune. I think TT is lacking something important, I’m not sure what it is but the closest thing to mind is some action in their tracks; for example in ‘Halleysonme’ the track is simply wonderful but it lacks some action by the final quarter, I guess if there was a scream in it like that one in ‘Headache’ followed by an emotional smooth solo, I believe that this track would sound completely different and would be considered as a masterpiece.
Though some tracks sound relatively boring there are other astonishing songs which makes you unable to determine whether the LP is good or bad, you may say it’s 50/50. It would be due to many factors, like lack of lyrical flow and repetitive lines which makes the tracks boring. Also the overrated durations, some tracks are over-durated and the evidence is in most cases the lack of a strong lyrical theme.
Trupa Trupa managed to write the music well but they didn’t with the lyrics. Most of the tracks are lyrically weak but it’s musically exquisite.
Also, the tracks have that deep theme which makes you sometimes unable to figure what the track really wants to express.
All in all they played it professionally but the quality of records needs to be enhanced a little and the band also are ought to maintain their old styled way of composing the songs, it managed to bring back the breeze of the golden ages of rock.
