Mumbai, India based composer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Glenn Valles just released another one of his masterfully crafted singles, Glenn’s modus operandi is all over this one, his artistic charisma and mojo are found aplenty in each and every little detail in his latest release “The Warden.”

“The Warden” is the spiritual successor to “A Troubled Mind”, both of these songs have some common soul and a common message…one of awareness, awareness of the wars that each of us might be having from within, yet no one could tell…

The song goes into the heavy subject of mental health and how we could get trapped as prisoners in our minds, yet, Glenn explores this very real and very complex concept through both the visual and sonic realms…let’s see how he managed to achieve this…

Starting with the sonic realm…Glenn chose blues rock for ”The Warden” to act as the world in which his words take life…and worked with an excellent vocalist to deliver these words…and most importantly to deliver the message.

The blues rock in “The Warden” had me thinking of so many iconic moments in the history of storytelling…instantly I found myself remembering scenes from ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘The Green Mile’…both icons of storytelling.

…and this is one of the extremely powerful tools that Glenn has in his arsenal…the masterful storytelling techniques through which he broadcasts his messages to the world…

…storytelling can be found in the genre Glenn chose to write “The Warden”…

…storytelling can be found in the performance of each instrument…

…the production of the song…

…the emotional journey which the song embarks on…

…storytelling is stretched in “The Warden” to get every little bit of emotion from the concept…

On top of all of this…now add Glenn’s other superweapon…the visual aspect…and that takes us to the visual realm.

If you check Glenn’s other videos-and you should-you’ll find that he’s telling his musical stories with visuals that go hand in hand with his music.

The story is always laid out clearly, artistically and to the point…

Music genres are but a tool for Glenn to leverage to tell his stories.

If i were to play some of Glenn’s music you’d never say that they come from the same artist…Glenn has written country, pop, electronic, heavy rock, rap and blues songs…his genre-bending approach also fuses many of these together…and you’re always getting a fresh story with a fresh musical experience.

All of this doesn’t come in a day…actually Glenn is an extremely established songwriter/composer and multi-instrumentalist winning highly recognized music awards since 2010, starting with the Festival4StarsLive (H3) in Ireland.

He went on to win the Lyric Writer Awards from We Are Listening (UK/USA) in 2012, then the Beat The Heat Song Challenge from SongU (USA) in the same year!

Glenn won the Clef Music Awards 3 consecutive times in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

His works has always had his fingerprint all over it…it’s sonic storytelling with visuals that elevates the experience…the whole journey that Glenn takes the audience on is a masterfully crafted one, a journey that is sure to take you through the emotional spectrum and deliver you safely to the message that the artist wants you to have…and for Glenn to tackle the very complex nature of mental health and tries to raise the awareness for it through his art…we salute him.

Having a crucial message like this be wrapped in beautiful art like this is…let me go ahead and say it…this is how artists can make the world a better place.

Glenn, we thank you for the music and wish you all the best in life.

We can not wait to see what you are preparing next for the world to experience.

Cheers!
