The iconic duo Bromsen released an enticing second single ‘The photograph’, that will send you back to a nostalgic time that you don’t even know what hit you. Released on the 2nd of December from Berlin, Germany, this song is a taste of the kind of music Karlo and Richard used to play in their old band Pampelmuse, which broke up in 2006. It’s also co-written with one of their old band members Manzari, Thankfully, now they came back as a duo in 2021 and hence this crazy good song as their second single. You can never take the roots out!
A synth indie rock tune, you will find every bit of flavor with this song. It’s dynamic, rich, fun, and filled with many musical elements. It’s funny that this song screams nostalgia for some reason, and it talks about the rock and roll dreams young adults may have had at certain points in their lives, which fade away by time as life takes you on other paths. With a fast-paced rhythm and mellow yet edgy beat, the overall sound of the song is very eclectic and bubbly. For some reason, all we could think about is a synonymous tone and way as the band The Smiths, with a sort of uplifting energy yet the lyrics and undertones are dark. The musical arrangement is brilliant, with a lot of hi-hats that set the tone and pace, subtle drums, scrappy electric guitar, and the music is just swirly and sweet in a sense. There is a very intense and melodic electric guitar that shocks you with a sudden exploration of edginess that has been building up in the track itself which feels like a great release at the end of the song. The vocals are soft, and also muffled. This song is just too good and we can’t wait for more good music to come from Bromsen! What a comeback!
