A healthy mix of scratchy guitars, thick bass, roomy drums, and a memorable vocal line create a perfect piece of alternative pop rock that is screaming 90s in each of its bars. Autorub’s latest single is an instantly lovable one.

‘The Falling (432Hz)’ is the title of Autorub’s latest release. A New York-based outfit spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist Michael Corn, the music of Autorub is fun and easygoing. With ‘The Falling’, the band is following their previous beloved singles ‘Oh Marjorie’ and ‘Big Girl Big Gun’ with more infectious riffs, unforgettable melodies, and warm, roomy mixes that make everything feel just nice.

The vocals, sung close to the mic, a bit on the dry side of reverbs, make things feel like Corn is singing to us in a cozy, private living room gig, and his unstoppable rhythm guitars are just awesome. With two lines playing a 2-part melody, both crunchy, overdriven, and lush, the guitars on ‘The Falling’ are just a thrill to listen to, and the warbly, rotary-effect that kicks in on Corn’s vocals introduces just the right amount of space juice into the mix to make ‘The Falling’ a complete 90s alt rock stunner.

‘The Falling’ is a thoroughly engaging and fun piece of alt-rock and pop by New York’s Autorub. Beautifully executed across the board, and with a warm, roomy mix, this is a perfect song for the start of a cold and cozy winter.
