Color me impressed! In short; Divided Line’s Shift is a really good song. These progressive rockers from Toronto, Canada have written one of those rare, near-flawless works of art that you don’t get to hear very often with new bands. I’ve listened to this song at least a dozen times, and I’m yet to get bored of it. The song is reminiscent of bands like System of A Down and Nirvana.
The instrumental work is on the verge of perfection, and the rhythm is melancholic and exhilarating. The vocalist has a beautiful strong voice and is able to keep up well with the rhythm. She seems in tone and grounded with the song, having her emotions strongly felt with her performance and entwined with the music. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this song, and I am enticed to listen to more of their other material. The only advice I have for the band is to please continue doing what you are doing, because it’s turning out well.
