Deceptively simple, KingQueen’s latest single is here to break stereotypes, while simultaneously bringing a fun, groovy, and catchy song, and a glamorous, colorful accompanying video. ‘That’s Why She’s Hot’ is a full package.

Based in Los Angeles, KingQueen are a glam rock outfit founded by lead singer Ina -aka Sabrina- Petrini, backed by Bobby Carpenter, Brandon Valerino, Jake Absher, and Ella G. Burgos. The sound the band are bringing on ‘That’s Why She’s Hot’ is very rich and cinematic, but with a troublesome and sinister twist. The band are fully embracing an ominous quirkiness on this song and on its video, starring Manila Luzon.

The music is pounding, presenting a fusion of disco vibes with electronica and flamboyant glam-rock confidence. An impeccable groove sits at the heart of the song, surrounded by a cloud of growling, sinister synths, distorted guitar stabs, and most crucially, Petrini’s very distinctive vocals that provide the bigger half of the song’s charisma and presence.

The video is stunning with its darkness. Uniformly colored and impeccably edited and directed, it is rich with its dark humor and easygoing, dollar-store sense of danger. Pure fun to watch, alongside a distinctive-sounding song that aims to teach listeners to not judge books by their covers.
