Savor the final moments of summer and evoke your sense of nostalgia with the flavorsome rock tune of “Sundowner” by Chicago-based band Plastic Tofu. The band is made up of two artists, Andrew Pelletier, a multi-instrumentalist vocalist, and Janusz Domaszuk on guitar.
“We both lived in the Chicago suburbs and met in a windy city as a student and a teacher, and years later, we created a project called Plastic Tofu,” shared Pelletier. “This is an easy summer song about travel, a good time, and happiness.”
“Sundowner” is indeed a light-as-a-feather song that ends all too soon. The track opens up with a punk rock vibe that is very uplifting, and it features a catchy riff and accompanying percussion.
The delicate vocals of Pelletier carry a charm that is easy for the ears, and as the chorus has you longing for a road trip. You can’t help but blast the music on the way to a tropical paradise, as it was inspired by a trip that the band took on the Pacific Coast Highway,
Speaking of inspiration, the band takes influence from the likes of Green Day, Lawrence Arms, punk and indie bands of the ’90s and ’00. Plastic Tofu’s sound in older tracks like “Punk Rebellion” and “Broken Clock” is not as indie as “Sundowner”, but it carries a heavier flavor that has you lost in the music.
With Los Angeles as the backdrop, “Sundowner” was created to last for a long time on your playlist. Stream now!
