Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends is where you’ll mostly find Alien Friend when he’s not playing guitar for the Swedish band Redmoon. This is Alien Friend’s solo project where he mixes power pop, folk, and indie rock with his honest and poetic lyrics.
With collaborations like multi-instrumentalist/singer David Myhr, Redmoon’s Daniel Lagerlöf, Åke Lindgren, and Johan Lundström, a bunch of singles and a double album were released in 2021, and three singles out in 2022 with a full-length planned at the beginning of 2023, Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends is taking the music scene by storm!
With colorful melodies and open bright sound, Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends will lighten your mood with their energetic tune “Suck” and what’s even better, this album version is slightly longer, it has a new intro and outro, and a more balanced mix than the released single!
“Suck” has some lovely fluid melodies that’ll get you hyped right from the very beginning until the last note, it has an unmistakable moving groove with slapping bass, uplifting guitar tone, and playful instrumentation mixing a number of different instruments with a smart arrangement and beautiful layering delivering the perfect mood. The vocal melody is fun and engaging with a super catchy, singalong chorus and sweet harmonies that kept on ringing in my head for quite some time right after the 1st listen, and that calming interlude around the 3:00 min mark with those soothing vocals and chilling guitars was a pleasant surprise.
“Suck” is a laid-back tune with upbeat melodies and smooth flow that I believe Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends did a lot of effort to make it sound like that. It is smartly written with lots of melodies and sounds that are produced with vision and a good knowledge of their target sound. Looking forward to more, cheers!
