Some alternative rock songs just feel like they belong in the mid-to-late 2000s era. This is one of them for sure. “Space & Time” is the latest single by three-piece Alternative Rock band, Bosola, who are based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and it’s a pretty charming tune if you ask me. You can only find tracks like these in the closing credits of a Netflix show that deals with a troubled romance.

Right off the bat, I could feel the strong rom-com energy that’s embedded in this track. I guess it has to do with the way the guitars are played, as they made me envision a scene with some kind of relationship-gone-wrong story, and it all made sense as I read the lyrics. To put it briefly, the lyrics discuss a girl who’s not over a boy she was with who used to treat her in a horrid and awful way, and it keeps getting worse as it elaborates on how that relationship went downhill.

The song feels like it gives off an “I told you so” narrative in its lyrics, which was (in a dark way) comedic and insightful, and it’s pretty rare nowadays to find a pop-rock/alternative rock band that goes this hard with their drums and guitars and feels so organic but still in line with what’s mainstream and accessible. Pretty sure this track will be a hit and will specifically resonate with younger teenage audiences.
