In the light of everything that’s going on in the world, as each nation faces its own issues, international political threats, and—not to mention—global catastrophes. Amid all of that, there are the dreamers who are trying to make themselves a way, who are clinging to hope and feel like they’re so close to what they want. Through an ethereal psychedelia, Nova Hall delivers what it’s like to try not to give up.
After a three-year absence, London-based singer-songwriter Nova Hall is back with an organic sound that fuses Alt-Rock and Indie-Pop with psychedelic and electronic flairs, which together with her hypnotic vocals create a surreal realm.
“So Close” is her second release, which follows “Life in Slow Motion.” The single conveys a realistic theme through its lyricism yet creates a magical cosmos with its tunes. It kicks off with an intro that gives a mystical ambiance. Once Nova’s delicate, enchanting vocal line enters, you feel the dark vibe that is smoothly wrapped up with an optimistic ribbon.
The song gets grungier as it goes through, sounding more edgy and defiant. Nova’s audacious vocals are delicately blended within the instrumentation to give the resolve to protest while breaking through, “I’m just trying to find my way and. I’m too tied in this arrangement.”
It’s not every day that you hear a track that gives you chills because of its blue atmosphere that emerges to be uplifting and liberating. Nova Hall is an artist who has a lot to offer, and I can’t wait to see how she will mesmerize us with her EP “Life in Slow Motion” and “Little by Little” single, which will be released on October 28th, 2022.
