Minneapolis-hailing songwriter and performer shugE recently returned from a hiatus lasting nearly a decade. Re-emerging with the album ‘first winter’, shugE came back to performing across the Twin Cities, teasing the release of the upcoming sister project ‘DARK WINTER’.

Pre-hiatus the artist was known for both his solo works and as the frontman for SORRY OK and Hayduke Lives. A flagship artist of the Minneapolis-based independent label Anti-Civ Records, shugE received radio play across the US and shared the stage with countless fellow musicians.

The artist recently shared the extremely vulnerable and moving single ‘With Me’. Taking listeners on a journey of self-discovery and soul-searching, shugE expresses the pain of love, emotionally delivering lyrics of struggle and loneliness, whilst maintaining a subtle optimism that is beyond infectious. Simply arranged in the instrumentation, shugE brings out the best of the each element, creating a dynamic rise and fall that energises you and breaks your heart.

shugE explains the track, “The song With Me & the new album it is on titled “DARK WINTER” is the ultimate culmination of my roller-coaster of a life as a musician…why I disappeared for a decade, & why I am back at it. I would really love for your listeners to get to experience this song & album with me.”
