In a world of accelerating fame for artificial intelligence, there seems to be a wave of disapproval by a few. Some people think that robots are replacing human beings, while others think they will end up ruling the world one day. Have you seen Elon Musk’s latest robot Optimus, also known as Tesla Bot? Tsk tsk.

Sharing the same sentiment is a Tokyo-born, London-based artist named Tzucasa. She wrote an alternative pop-rock song titled “Robots Bore Me”. Drawing inspiration from Isaac Asimov’s “Satisfaction Guaranteed,” the song challenges romanticized views of technology and emphasizes the importance of human connection,” shared the artist.

Tzucasa’s “Robots Bore Me” is the first track from an upcoming EP that is her first full production in Roundhouse, Camden, London. The song is heavily influenced by punk, as evident in the signature electric guitar riffs and the stylistic way that Tzucasa sings in. It opens up with the bold statement that is very matter-of-fact, singing “Robots Bore Me, they make me see the things that I don’t need.”

As we increasingly become reliant on automation, the song offers a noble message that we must take a step back and really think about the influence of robots in our lives. Tzucasa’s exploration of such a topic reflects raw emotions that are evident in her singing style on the track, which is almost carrying a mockery tone throughout “Robots Bore Me”.

Offering a catchy rhythm and distinct vocal abilities, “Robots Bore Me” is a direct dig at those who worship AI and rely on it for every task of the day. What’s at stake is the field of arts and music, which fall under self-expression. So, open your eyes, stream the song, and think twice before you use robotics again.
