Two months ago, American alternative rock/heavy metal band Viserra released a new single entitled “Light Years.” According to the band, “Light Years is the opening track to “Siren Star”, our episodic concept album which chronicles the epic struggle of two star-crossed lovers separated by time and space. Their perspectives alternate throughout the album and in the opening chapter, an astronaut is forced to leave someone behind, floating in orbit around a star with only their suit, and afterwards, the two desperately attempt to reconnect.
In general, “Light Years” is so emotional. It opens with few beats on the snares before they joined by dynamic guitar distortions. Shortly, the mood of the music turns to be more into heavy metal/alternative rock style, this heat of 2000 rockstars.
In 2:20, the mood of the track changes to be so slow, so classic before it turns to the first mood once again. Finally, an outstanding catchy guitar solo is played with a background of choirs. I want to mention the beauty of the performance of the vocals, those beautiful clean pitches succeed in delivering honest emotions and catching the attention of the listeners.
