Germany based musical duo 51 Miles Away released a new single titled “Redeem Me”, a huge sounding alt rock experience with very sharp industrial elements…the song sounds like a journey…and a journey it is.

51 Miles Away is two friends that share the same level of passion for music making, even though they come from different musical backgrounds, but their passion for music gave them synergy…

These two friends are Sven Frei doing the songwriting and vocals…Andy Schaper doing the production and also on the drums and guitars.

“Redeem Me” is a musical experience about depression, but also about how we should never quit and never stop fighting it.

The song was written in 2019 during rehab and was released on an EP that was under Sven’s name…but due to its meaning and how it pertains closely to Sven, he wanted to re-record it and give it more life through Andy’s production approach.

Jumping into the “Redeem Me”, the journey starts out with an electronic mood, a synth arpeggio playing, sucking us into the world of 51 Miles Away…only to get blasted with huge guitar riffs and strong drum beats.

The song keeps up the alt/industrial rock energy all through its runtime…it doesn’t skip a beat, doesn’t slow down, it’s an all out war on depression.

The vocals take a subtle direction throughout the song, it’s not an aggressive approach to vocals, actually it has fitting storytelling vocal delivery…the vocals are like a sound that comes from within your mind, it feels like this is what your will is saying to you…”Redeem Me”.

The song is full of energy, power and huge sounding production values.

We thank 51 Miles Away for tackling a very heavy topic in this artistic way and we wish them all the best in life.

Cheers!
