Cinematic, dynamic, and driving, ‘Ready to Go’ is a fulfilling musical journey from start to finish.

Based in San Francisco, Art Police is an indie rock and post-rock outfit masterminded by musician Artem Polyakov who wrote the music for ‘Ready to Go’ and arranged it. The production was carried out by Federico Lodi, and the single features that voice of both Polyakov and Iolanda Diana.

‘Ready to Go’ is an 80s-inspired slow burner that fuses 80s rock’s reverb-drenched beats with post-rock-inspired instrumental palettes akin to the music of Public Service Broadcasting, featuring a guitar-driven, multi-layered arrangement. The piece also takes its time to heave gently, but surely, from its humble, arpeggiated beginnings, to far more intricate sections as the song progresses. Particularly fascinating is the song’s guitar solo. Impeccably balanced, and with a killer distorted tone, the solo does an amazing job intermixing major and minor tonalities, which results in arresting, thought-provoking, and colorful moments.

‘Ready to Go’ deals mostly in vibes. It is a song that sets out to create a mood and then proceeds to ace this task. The “bedroom” vibes that Art Police aimed to deliver end up sounding as tight and as polished as if the music was produced in a masterclass studio, and with a composition this crisp, and an arrangement this engaging, ‘Ready to Go’ is a sublime listen.
