Hailing from Ontario, Canada Stereo Sunrise is an alternative rock award-winning four-piece band formed in 2011. With Justin Koetsier on Vocals and Rhythm Guitars, Piero Montemurro on Lead Guitars, Arih SK on Bass and Mark Hoerdt on Drums. A big part of the band’s goal is to bring back the old rock spirit that has been lost in the modern rock scene. Taking inspiration from 90’s alt rock bands such as The Gandharvas and Blind Melon.

“Plains on Fire” As described by the band the song’s theme “explores deceit, deception, and lies, along with the negative fallout from those approaches”. It begins with a catchy guitar riff played in an odd time signature of 9/8 giving it a continuing feeling. Before breaking into a two-chord 60’s 4/4 groove reminding me of bands like The Monkees and The Beatles. With his flawless voice, Justin delivers a sing-along vocal line that keeps you hooked on the song. A change from major to minor in the second and third verses gives the song a different mood and atmosphere. It is truly a well produced and written groovy and catchy song that’s going to stick in your head for a long time. “Plains on Fire” is a must listen to for any rock n roll or alt rock fans out there.
