There are many ways you can celebrate friendship, but the epitome of representation is through a song! “Paint Me How You See Me” is a folk rock track that commemorates true companionship by Australian singer/songwriter Stefan West

“This song is about the importance of friendship, especially that one person who has been there through thick and thin,” shared West. “As we grow older, we encounter new environments and people, but it’s those day-one friends who truly understand our journey. This  song expresses my gratitude for my best friend, who has taught me so much just by being  himself, and it’s a reminder of how vital those connections are as we navigate our lives.”

“Paint Me How You See Me” is the fourth track off West’s upcoming album “Just Another Sunflower, Searching for the Sun” and it perfectly captures the warmth of honest camaraderie with the soft acoustics echoing in the background of West’s heavy Aussie accent and soft vocals, before the beat kicks in and picks up the pace, then slowing down once again.

West spent hours practicing new folk fingerpicking patterns that ended up on the song. Its structure was wrapped up during the pandemic, when he kept sending demos back and forth to his pal Aaron Schembri and completed 200-hour yoga teaching training. It is evident that some people spent the years of the pandemic frightened, while others like West were super productive!

His ultimate goal is to “connect with as many people as possible through [his] music,” concluded West. And so far, he’s doing a great job doing that!
