Motorcycle Display Team have received acclaim from across the industry, lauded for their heart-wrenching songwriting ability. Power trio Stevoknievo, Morgan Condon and Brad Larroquette bring expansive palettes to broad arrangements, appearing on tours across Europe and the UK with electrifying performances.

Including recent return to form ‘To The Endless’ and new track ‘Not Raving, But Frowning’, Motorcycle Display Team have unveiled their latest project, two-track single ‘Heartbeaten’. ‘To The Endless’ tracked a steadily breaking relationship, a lifetime in a capsule that powerfully started a new narrative. The band’s introduction of a wider instrumental base allowed for deeply emotive performances, the strings rising amongst the distorted guitars and the vocal harmonies in a combative dance with one another until an explosive ethereality emerged.

The other track, ‘Not Raving, But Frowning’, once again dives deep into a vivid piece of storytelling, setting out a much more climactic and fleeting sonic tapestry. The lead vocal drives an empathic performance, the counter melodies across vocals, strings and piano all falling into line behind the leader. The band managed to create such captivation in balancing tones, the different instruments perfectly selected when they work together, and when they contrast one another. A pair of tracks to be heard in full, spellbinding your concentration into the rich world beyond the surface.

‘Heartbeaten’ was recorded at Lightship 95 with Dave Holmes, the sessions filmed by Mike O’Toole and Shane Hynan and edited by Ross Casswell.

Stevoknievo explains the newer of the two singles, sharing “The song is a portrait of the self-indulgent fool I recognise in myself. Where all play every day makes Jack a burned-out husk. A romantic cliche never accepting when the party’s over. A meaningless existence, piecing together hazy recollections of nights before. But even so it’s not hopeless – there’s always the glimmer of a chance at redemption.”
