Band opens for Lost Society in their finnish tour – first show sold out!
The Finnish alternative collective Luna Kills gained a lot of attention for their original rock style last year, especially with their video ‘BULLET’, viewed over 37,000 times, and ‘here for the drama’, receiving lots of national radio play. The new year starts with a new single drop ‘deep cuts’ – a song that brutally rips old wounds open with its bittersweet story.
“The lyrics of ‘deep cuts’ deal with that feeling of the end of the world, when you realize that someone you love just rips your wounds open and brings nothing but pain, but letting go feels just as bad. However, every time you just keep on returning to that same place again and again – and of your own free will”, singer Lotta Ruutiainen explains.
The band, also avid gamers, again drew their inspiration to the song from the world of cinema. This time, in addition to rock riffs, the softer pop melodies are topped with metalcore-type screams in the breakdown.
“The song combines poppy hooks with heavy riffs, which is rather typical for us. In the beginning, the most central part of the song was the Blade Runner-inspired synth parts, which formed the basis for the song’s gloomy and suffocating feeling.”
Luna Kills get to blast the new single live right away, as the band is warming up for Lost Society on five gigs around Finland – the first one of them in Jyväskylä last week was played to a full house, as the concert was sold out! The remaining shows are:
