Having already covered Dan Szyller’s album Celestial Immigrant, I remember King’s Hall being one of the album’s standout tracks. So naturally I was excited to revisit the tune and to see what storyline Szyller deemed worthy to be used in the song’s recently released music video.
Dan Szyller is a Brazilian indie artist who is based in Metz, France, and King’s Hall is a song that was introduced on his latest full-length album. A piece of prog rock that’s composed and confident, lushly arranged and heartily written. Its steady pace is made into something exciting with its syncopated rhythms. The gnarly guitars play a plenty of meaty riffs that take us through this song’s phases and sections, while Szyller’s grand and authoritative vocal delivery tells a tale of medieval fantasy.
The video that Szyller presented is a work of fiction that features fitting fantastical imagery from dramatic skies, interiors of Middle Ages castles, and eerie-looking woods. The choreography is minimal and tasteful, and the color palette used is uniform, giving the whole output a sheen of Hollywood cinema professionalism.
Dan Szyller has decided to give his album’s most standout piece of music a treatment with a fitting, nicely written and directed accompaniment video that will make the experience ever more fleshed out. Check out the video for Dan Szyller’s King’s Hall, and be sure to check out his whole album afterwards.
