The gritty, abrasive, and ominous riffs of Limb Breaker’s latest single are a showcase of a rhythmic and atmospheric powerhouse. ‘Kills Me’ is intense and oppressive, and a massive load of fun.
Courtesy of Danny Serrano, a South Florida musical veteran of the underground scene and his latest project Limb Breaker. The debut single of Limb Breaker leaves little to the imagination. Serrano is tackling doom and thrash metal head on with Limb Breaker, and ‘Kills Me’ is a testament to what he’s capable of.
The absolutely fulfilling sound of ‘Kills Me’ is first and foremost a result of a terrific mix populated by weighty drumming and drum sound, right alongside juicy guitar riffs and ample vocal dissonance, processed with megaphone effects and double tracking that makes the singing sound downright alien. The production on ‘Kills Me’ is stand out. The song itself is nuanced and extremely engaging. The quick tempo and manic chugs of the riffs are a joy to behold, and the foreboding pace of the song is deliciously threatening, and with performances on the bass, guitar, and drums as tight and as capable as what we hear on the single, ‘Kills Me’ is a beast of a debut.
Serrano’s introduction to Limb Breaker is a charismatic one. Confident, loud, challenging, and bold, ‘Kills Me’ is a take it or leave it kind of a situation, and we are absolutely taking it.
