The guitars in this song go straight to the head and the heart, as smooth as honey. The Alt-Rock, Glam Rock track is the latest by ‘We Are Makers’, also known as ‘WAM’.
There is a soft loudness to it. ‘Killin’ It’ carries gentle darkness –the notes play, giving the feeling that something big is about to happen.
The vocals have an echoey ring, singing as if in slow-motion. They feel like the voice of your subconscious talking to you from the back of your head.
According to We Are Makers, the lyrics are all about the manipulation the music industry goes under while also being a self-empowerment anthem.
The music video is dropping on May 21st at WAM’s next show at the Highland Park Bowl in the USA.
The band resulted from when love meets music, created by Chelsea and Ryan Maker. In 2016, they packed their few possessions and took an extended road trip toward the West Coast through the south. They eloped in Arizona, at the top of Bell Rock and finally settled in Pasadena.
Long story short, ‘Killin’ It’ has caught our attention –the sensual and tactile guitars and the low-key vocals are a killer combo. You can notice the coordination and alliance of WAM in their work.
