ICONIC! This is what I can say about the Belarusian post-black metal latest single, Kazka. I dare you to find such impressive grooves and melodies that are well-crafted in the same form lately.

I am truly amazed by Vihilija’s Kazka. Picture this – a song that blends dark and harmonious elements infused with intense energy. It feels like experiencing a seasoned melodic heavy metal band in a black metal style. How remarkable is that? In under four minutes, it delves into the enduring childhood fears that persist in our lives. This powerful and eerie track is an auditory journey into the lasting shadows that influence our minds.

Exploring Vihilija’s background further reveals that their music draws inspiration from the atmospheric and introspective styles of Alcest, Mol, Cult of Luna, and Deafheaven. They also incorporate a unique touch by singing lyrics in their native Belarusian language. I totally agree when they say that “We believe that our unique sound and cultural perspective would resonate with your audience.” Of course, this is the beauty of art. No matter where you are from, you will feel it and love it.

I’m pleased that bands like Vihilija are working to bring back black metal music. It’s true that extreme metal genres are not as prevalent as they used to be. Perhaps it’s time for new acts to spark a revival. So, take a moment to listen, enjoy, and thank me later!
