The Celtic Social Club’s latest single feels like it jumped right out of a time machine from Seattle in the winter of 1992. Artsy and hip, while being exceptionally colorful and lush, ‘I Can’t Wait Anymore’ is an exceedingly gorgeous piece of indie rock.

Being called what they are, The Celtic Social Club are a seven-piece musical collective based in Paris, are of Irish roots, and sounds like West Coast indie hipsters. This delightful, unheard-of blend is crystallized in the ensemble’s latest single, and the first single off of the collective’s 20-song album planned to be released.

The song kicks off with a sublime bass and vocals duet that’s bouncy, balanced, and beautiful. The song’s composition is bittersweet and delightful, and the numerous instrumental cues on the song are arresting. From the unforgettable fiddles melody, the gargantuan guitar slides that occur roughly halfway through the song, to the simple beauty of the song’s vocals and lyrics, there is a whole lot to unpack on this song’s lush arrangement.

‘I Can’t Wait Anymore’ is a very sweet song that is well put-together. A wholesome arrangement and a lovely piece of songwriting that is artfully paced. The Celtic Social Club have only started causing ripples in the media of their native France, having landed on the cover of Rolling Stone France. But with this new single heralding a new, massive album, something is telling us the group are headed for much larger recognition, and if only for this truly gorgeous single, it will be well deserved.
