With the soft strumming of the electric guitar, “Insecurity” opens up on a mellow note. The track, by US-based Gold & Platinum Producer, Singer Songwriter, Lemoyne Alexander, talks about a person who has an insecurity about being the right fit for a partner.
“I don’t wanna bring my past into our future,” sings Alexander about the hesitation that follows starting a new relationship. “It’s better for you to go back to him and stay, because it’s my insecurities.”
The short music video shows an animation storyline of the relationship being played out. Alexander plays all the instruments on the song, which picks up the pace during the chorus, and explodes into an epic tune that gets stuck in your head.
Alexander was the frontman of the band The Fascination back in the 80s, before building a successful career as a producer in the 90s – focusing on rap music. Apart from being nominated for a Grammy in 2022 for Best Rock Song, he has founded a production team that worked with a number of renowned artists.
“Insecurity” is a tune that reminisces over how someone would feel at the beginning of a potential partnership, and openly explores the insecurities that one might have upon entering into a relationship. Perfect portrayal!
