Kent Dustin’s latest single is a cool, stomping piece of blues rock that trudges forward with seemingly boundless amounts of confidence and charisma.  ‘Impress You’ is Depeche mode meeting Queens of The Stone Age in a blissful middle ground.

An Australian hailing from the Gold Coast, Kent Dusting is a singer and songwriter who is, on his latest single ‘Impress You’, bringing along some really tight riffs and well-tried formulas that have had their longevity proven by countless experiments before. A fire-breathing blues rock stomp with a kick drum sound that could set off earthquakes.

What is really engaging about Kent Dustin’s delivery is his organic, stretchy vocals, not as gritty or as “stomp-ey” as is the norm with this kind of thing. Instead, his retelling of his trials to impress a new love ends up sounding warmhearted and quite relatable, courtesy of his almost-vulnerable delivery, and its rocky, and sublime backdrop.

With a superb mixing job, and an exceedingly tight guitar performance to support what the song has going for it, ‘Impress You’ is a stellar-sounding song that I could replay for maybe a couple dozen times without feeling bored.
