Infectious, upbeat, sweet, and rowdy, Mary Strand’s preemptive Christmas single ‘I Wanna Believe’ has a healthy and bustling jingle to it that got us on our feet.

Mary Strand is a lawyer who became an author and is now busy writing lighthearted and wholesome punk songs with her band The Garage. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, The Garage is made up of Mary and her song, Jack Strand, along with Ryan Smith of Soul Asylum and Mark Wade of The Melismatics. The foursome are delivering cheerful and colorful rock on Mary’s latest ‘I Wanna Believe.

Most noteworthy on ‘I Wanna Believe’ would probably be the rich and fulfilling rhythm guitar performance. Overdriven and crunchy and situated just right in the mix, the guitars on the song are infectious. Mary’s restrained and approachable vocal delivery is also very easy to fall for, as well as her sweet lyrics. The grooves are simplistic and easy to follow for results that are rocking and exciting, and the songwriting is melodic with varying sections that make for an engaging listen.
