First of all, Neil Leyton’s energetic, full-of-life voice was the very first thing that grabbed my attention right when I played “(I Got A Call From) Michael Maker”. Digging deeper into the song’s sound and production, I was bewitched by its catchy melodic flow and authentic warm production. The groovy drumming and playful bass provided a deeper layer to the dreamy soulful guitar melodies, mixing them together created an engaging alive tune that softly resides in the back of your mind, making you play it repeatedly. The slow mellow sound shift in the middle was surprising and pretty awesome, I don’t usually go along with such dramatic changes but, that was neatly done and right at its place, I even wanted it to go on for longer.

“(I Got A Call From) Michael Maker” is one of those songs that captures your senses and flips over your mood. Neil Leyton’s well-crafted lovely melodies and beautiful flow will carry you smoothly throughout its fluid structure, leaving you singing “I’ve got a call from Michael Maker” all day long! I’m definitely looking forward to Leyton’s upcoming releases, keep on rocking man! Cheers!
