I Don’t Believe It’s True shows different sides of Superswell, as they have some diverse influences that they know very well how to build on. Superswell sound like a 90s alternative band that was raised on the love of raw garage rock, and classic rock n roll, and I’d dare to say that I can hear some clear punk influences there, especially with the drumming. Those guys have a fluid writing style with extremely ever-changing dynamics, they keep on taking the listener through twists and turns with their groovy sound and catchy hooking vocals. Their sound is pretty heavy, the guitar tone, fat bass, and crazily upbeat drumming kept the energy levels high, and made Superswell‘s writing and talent pretty clear.
Superswell sounds like they took their time with I Don’t Believe It’s True, it has a solid, well-arranged structure with clever seamless transitions and a multi-layered sound that was neatly produced to reflect the band’s attitude and pure authentic sound.
