London-based rockers Modern Guilt are back with their new single “How to Buy Happiness” on the 11th of November, 2022. Produced by Mikey Buckley, “How to Buy Happiness” smoothly mixes Modern Guilt’s diverse influences into a unique sounding piece that they described as “the story of a man convinced that if he had enough money, he would be happy, and how he chases that belief”. With a warm classic sound, Modern Guilt welcomes you on “How to Buy Happiness”. The surfing guitars, groovy bass, and atmospheric synths all blend together in an extremely fluid structure that smoothly moves throughout the song’s dynamic sections. The vocal melody has a unique flow to it that- in a way- led the song’s dynamics. Modern Guilt has some obviously diverse influences, as I can hear some 80s pop mixed by classic rock Led Zeppelin-ish acoustic sections, and a tint of psychedelic guitar tone around the solo, all within a solid sound that’s their very own. The production of “How to Buy Happiness” is pretty impressive, they managed to reach the perfect tone and sound that fits its overall classic sound, showing their good sense of sound and direction, totally recommended!
“How to Buy Happiness” is an enjoyable energetic tune by Modern Guilt.
