The Chicago-based trio Anfang can easily turn you into a fan with their groovy heavy riffs and catchy vocals on their latest single Honey Trudge and today, we’re gonna dig deep into it.
With an intro that’ll get you instantly hooked, Anfang opened Honey Trudge. That drum hit and the “Hey” yell followed by blasting drumming and heavy riffing sent me off my seat headbanging. The extremely groovy and catchy main riff set the perfect energetic build-up for the open-sounding verse, where vocalist Andie Zaragoza used her powerful chords to keep the song’s rocking dynamics alive and kicking while the guitars subtly built up to an explosive upbeat chorus. Honey Trudge is one of those songs that shows a band’s qualities, it gives you a clear demonstration of their writing skills and musicianship as they managed to create a relentless unstoppable dynamic structure that’s filled with catchy well-written melodies and hooks, alongside their pretty obvious chemistry and energy, I’m sure those guys give one hell of a live show.
