Since 2022, heavy wild have been making a name for themselves thanks to their signature blend of energising rock rhythms and nostalgic synth design. With their early singles, they built a strong following, then going onto support Highschool in Paris and tour the UK and Ireland with Swim Deep, further cementing their notability.

Their new release, ‘Dope Gods’ balances a chugging riff with infectious melodies from both the lead guitar and a soaring synth line that lace the track in a mystical soundscape. Reverberant vocal layers call out into the track with a reflective warmth that captivates the listener. ‘Dope Gods’ is a beautifully hazy track with heartfelt musicianship from start to finish.

Lead vocalist Wolfgang Harte explains the track,  “I wrote the song on the back of getting the news last January that an old friend had died. We were best friends around the ages of 15-17 and had so many crazy times wrapped up in that period of adolescence.

There was sort of this movie playing in my head of our friendship over that time and the lyrics are born out of that, reflecting on those hectic teenage days and the sadness of losing a friend.”

To promote the new single, heavy wild are returning to the live scene, playing their next London show at The Victoria on February 28th.
