‘Fly Well’ has a soothing and reassuring flow, a confident gait, and a gentle composition that’s instantly memorable for striking results on MayFall’s debut.

A Canadian 4-piece indie rock outfit, MayFall are a very fresh band from Niagara Falls who are just dropping their debut single, titled Fly Well. A perfect song for being out on the road, missing home, ‘Fly Well’ is a simply beautiful sounding and charmingly written ballad. Composed of Justin Koetsier on the vocals, Piero Montemurro and Steve Doucet on guitars, and Jay Forhan on the bass, ‘Fly Well’ is a stunning debut.

‘Fly Well’ is a slow and steady song about always coming back home. With heartwarming lyrics and an open-faced composition, MayFall stun with their confidence and their collectedness as they lay down a minimal but occasionally explosive groove, paint a lush soundscape of memorable guitar melodies, lines, and tones that all work to support Koetsier’s approachable and gentle delivery that’s immediately pulling and comforting. The guitar arrangements on ‘Fly Well’ are brilliant, and an instrumental turnaround that heavily features a bouncy bass line and a guitar melody showcases players who are in total control of their instruments, unafraid of veering a little off the beaten path for the sake of a flair of color that immediately grabs the attention.

‘Fly Well’ is an extremely promising and confident debut that left us excited for what is more to come from this talented 4-piece. Recorded and produced by Dean Malton at Groundloop Studio in Ontario, MayFall’s debut is bluesy, gentle, soft, and sweet.
