Teasing his upcoming record Devil in the Details, Port Angeles-based artist Michael Soiseth dropped his latest single Everywhere You Go is Where You’ll Be under the name Raygun Carver. Playing around the old adage “wherever you go, there you are”, Raygun Carver delivers a catchy hooking tune in collaboration with producer Robert Wollam, keyboardist Phil Madeira (Emmylou Harris band), and drummer Jamie Wollam (Tears for Fears). Let me tell you more about it.

Raygun Carver opened Everywhere You Go is Where You’ll Be with a dreamy folky melody, setting the perfect mood for what’s to come. His soothing guitar melody takes us softly into a mellow groovy verse, where he takes control of the song’s dynamics with his expressive vocals. With a smooth progression, Raygun Carver introduces some bluesy electric guitar licks and melodies adding an emotional layer to his mix, and you can hear that reflecting on the vocals perfectly. Everywhere You Go is Where You’ll Be has a fluid atmospheric flow with a well-balanced and arranged structure, it keeps the listener on board with its subtle dynamic changes, following the lyrics while swaying to its haunting jazzy groove and singing along with its hooking chorus.

Raygun Carver managed to show his seasoned writing skills and musicianship in the most effective way, laying eargasmic melodies and cleverly steering multiple layers and elements carefully to precisely deliver the mood and vibes he wanted. Looking forward to more from Raygun Carver, keep on rocking. Cheers!
