With two albums up their sleeves, American rockers Modern Day Outlaw dropped their latest EP Through The Gates of Hell on the 11th of September 2023. Produced by Matt LaPlant, MOD are demonstrating their unique southern metal mix in Through The Gates of Hell, and today we’re gonna dig deeper into one of its killer tunes, Eulogy. Modern Day Outlaw opened Eulogy with sharp acoustic guitars and soft bluesy licks, slowly and emotionally building up with an escalating expressive vocal melody. Eulogy has a well-crafted progression that took all the time it needed to build its heart-hitting touching sound, creating a deep bond with the listeners as their notes, melodies, and subtle atmospheric violins reflect their authentic feelings clearly and smoothly transmit them through their detailed writing. Modern Day Outlaw’s solid layered writing appears clearly in the way Eulogy flows and progresses, the choice of adding violins added a melancholic layer to the song’s mix, and as they kept on pushing forward toward bigger harder sound, the insanely heartfelt guitar solo ends the song on a high note forcing you to play it over and over again.
