Vengenza Del Fantazma is the latest, charismatic, collaborative release from the up and coming Love Ghost. A short EP of 4 tracks, each with a different vibe, feature, and each a display of Love Ghost’s talents as studio wizards.
Based is Los Angeles, Love Ghost is a band composed of Finnegan Bell, Daniel Alcala, Cory Batchler, and Daniel Gallardo. With a string of praises from Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, FLAUNT, and more, Vengenza Del Fantazma comes at the tail of a phase of success and exposure for the band. Feasting 4 different Latin artists of each track, this album is varied and each cut sounds fresh and unique.
Ghost Town, the starter, featuring the Acclaimed Santa RM from Mexico is a driven, horror inspired track with a heavy, slow, sluggish beat that amplifies the foreboding sense of darkness on this song that discusses mental health and the spiritual struggle with one’s demons. Santa RM’S rapped feature is exciting and the mix, courtesy of the talented Mike Summers is absolutely stunning with a minimalistic, powerful composition. Inferno is Techno at heart. More slow, lumbering, huge beats and a sense of darkness prevails through the music and the lyrics, with a rich, charismatic rap section from the Chicano legend Conejo. AL13N is a cute, syrupy composition, heavy on optimistic synth droplets and rich, distorted guitars, this lighthearted cut is not lightweight, with an exciting atmosphere and a fast rhythm that contrasts the two prior songs and a super fun feature of the Spanish EMO singer Vanity Vercetti. The haunting closer, Pick Myself Apart, continues the trend of slow rhythms, with a composition in major that sounds hopeful and bright, and a disturbing contrast in the heavy, touching words, describing what goes through the mind of a hopeless romantic in vivid language that’s shocking and bold, with a feature from the pop star Lou Cornaga.
Mike Summer’s experienced production takes these songs soaring into the stratosphere. An exciting, short release that’s exceedingly easy to love and enjoy. Love Ghost are on their way for global stardom if they keep going on this upwards trajectory of fun, well-produced, and witty songs.
