Artist Spirit Gun hits again with a fire EP on the 23rd of December 2022 called ‘ The Antonym’, a 90s rock collection of songs all the way from Norfolk, US. The band consists of Peter Overstreet for vocals, Oren Lev for drums, and Tony Burgess for bass, and they’ve been all working together since 2018.

This EP is a dedication to their friend Jeff Hewitt, who left too soon. It seems that this person has left a huge mark on each of the band members, and it really shows in the passion displayed in every second of the EP. You’ll find everything from life, cityscapes, loss, and the mourning of a dear soul. The album is perfect for reminiscing as it feels a little bit nostalgic. The album is a rocking diamond of memories crystallized.

The soundscape is mostly 90’s hard rock, with lots of sounds and richness in emotive tunes. The fast pace of the music really pumps you up with adrenaline and excitement. The musical arrangement is dynamic. With every piece of music reflecting lyrically and sonically what the vocalist really means. Emotional and honest, the music just moves you with its high energy and positive tunes that are a tribute to Jeff’s beautiful persona. You’ve got a wild electric guitar, harsh electric guitar riffs, funky and super-hyped rock melodies, hardcore drums and cymbals, intense and long electric guitar solos that will really get to you. There’s just so much attitude in the music which seems to be what Jeff may have been like. All in all, this EP is a beautiful masterpiece crafted with much love and appreciation to Jeff.
