With just his guitar and high-pitched vocals, New Jersey-based artist Matt DeAngelis sings about the importance of paying attention to our climate in his latest single cover “Dust in the Wind”. Originally played by Kansas, the two songs are very similar in sound, but quite different in execution.
DeAngelis’ mellow version features acoustic guitars, but also the echoing of electric guitar strums in the background near the middle of the song instead of the violins in the original track. The acoustic rock song was recorded at Musically Speaking Studios, and produced by DeAngelis himself, along with Billy Kennedy and John DeAngelis.
“In the end, we are all nothing but dust in the wind,” shared DeAngelis. “But the earth will remain forever and the future of our children’s children’s children is at stake. Let’s make a change now to make the world a safer and healthier place before it’s too late.”
He adds that this cover’s goal is to spread awareness about climate change, and promote positivity in order to make a quick difference in the world for future generations. In his point of view, we should be mindful and take care of this planet, since we will return to dust eventually. Hence, “Dust in the Wind” represents the human race’s inevitable end.
