‘Our sound hits harder than a steel chair shot’

-Velour Frog

…I love how the Londoner band describes their music…and let me share with you something, after hearing and experiencing what they do, that’s actually an accurate and scientific description…and now they’ve released a new and alongside it is a music video, “Dopehead” is one powerful and headbanging experience.

Getting to know the awesome people of Velour Frog…well, let’s start with when they were formed…’tis was the year 2020, led by frontman, lead guitarist and songwriter, Jake aka ‘Snakebite’ with his face-melting guitar skills and intoxicating powerful vocals.

Ali aka Chainsaw Ali is the musical locomotive of rhythms, the beatmaster.

With rhythm guitarist Marshall aka ‘Herculez’ with his hypnotic, spellbinding, and often shocking stage moves…and finally completing the line-up is Naois Bonar aka ‘Bone’ with his iconic bass playing.

“Dopehead’ is a 4-minute powerful song with 90’s alt-rock aesthetics, but filled to the brim with Velour Frog’s own unique musical charisma and mojo…with the smooth and mystical intro, the quick buildup, and the explosive headbanging riffs…excellent stuff.

…after the proverbial dust settles, that of the big riffs, the bass really shines with its groovy and melodic line…then going back to the mountainous guitar riffs…

Velour Frog is absolutely tight, heavy, dark and powerful…very unique, and fresh vocals fill the air by the frontman and also some frets-on-fire guitar solos…” Dopehead” is impactful.

Along with the song is the music video…which mixes between a live performance of the band and some acting scenes by the members, it’s got that 90s grunge coloring and mood all over it, I love it, it took me back to the good old days and definitely elevated the overall experience of “Dopehead”.

Velour Fog are currently working with the legendary Rock Music Producer Nick Tauber who worked with some of the greats including Thin Lizzy, UFO, Venom, and Def Leppard to name just a few. The band’s influences may be from the 80’s and 90’s greats, but are bringing their own unique sound to the world with their own musical twist on it…

Wishing all the best to Velour Frog and will look forward to their upcoming releases.

Cheers!
