The latest single by LA-based pop rocker Camille Rose is an uptempo anthem that’s super catchy and artistic entitled “Deepest Regret”. Camille tells the story of how one of her old lovers was a total jerk who wasn’t worth her time and the relationship that she grew regretful towards.
In a mix of 2000s pop rock and pop punk styles, Camille takes us through her journey and tells us how miserable her ex was in a way that perfectly paints a mental picture. I’ve missed songs that had a big guitar and a rock-ish edge like this since the days of Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne.
What keeps Camille unique though is the deep tone and dark color of her voice during the verses, before she hits us with that big chorus. I was surprised and blown away by the amazing instrumentation, especially the gripping basslines and how clearly audible they were…the production quality here is to die for.
All in all, this is a song for all of you who like uptempo anthems about failed relationships and if you wanna feel nostalgic about the era when they were mainstream and taking over the world, because it seems like Camille will be trending with this song and taking the spotlight away from other artists pretty soon.
