“Cranial Euphoria” is not just the name of a track or a musical composition. Michigan-based solo artist Rokita puts the listener through an experience that’s as musically diverse as the title suggests, and stimulates a lot of emotions.
The track and its accompanying music video are highly reminiscent of David Bowie as it channels art rock, prog rock, and psychedelic rock through both sound and visuals. The composition of the track is as dense as it gets; you have tempo changes, key changes, as well as tonal changes with the guitar.
The violins add greatly to the melodic element of the track while the rest of the elements felt really rhythmic/percussive.
You can’t really take one moment of the song and make it outshine the others. That, in my opinion, is how great and well-balanced songs are written.
I recommend watching the music video with the song, as you will feel like you’re going through a trip of musical meditation, not just listening to a song.
