And the Sunset Burns blend rock and roll, indie and Latin influences, and have started the journey toward their debut album All My Sins. Formed by Cantabria’s childhood friends Danny and Isma, the project moved to London, completing the quartet lineup with Ruben and Alex in 2023.

And the Sunset Burns’ ‘Take It Or Leave It’, the first track from the new album, sees the band transition to a glowing indie sound. Bringing all of the melancholic positivity the sonics of distorted guitars, swaying bass lines and wistful vocal performances have to offer.

The intro is immediately filled with layers of guitar rhythm, glowing and twinkling with a bright tone, steadily moving towards the first chorus where we hear an infectious vocal hook and dynamic, energised drums.

Soft grooves continue throughout, slowly putting a smile on the audience’s face as they dive into the ups and downs of a new relationship, finding the balance between falling head over heels and leaving room for the romance to grow.

The band explains the track, “Ruben (drummer) wrote the song while living in Tooting, just before joining the band. He was inspired by the jangly sound of Ooh La La by the Faces and came up with the rhythm guitar riff that runs through the song on his acoustic guitar.

It began very much as an acoustic song, but when you present a song to the band it takes on a new life. Everyone brought their own influences and it evolved into the modern vintage blend it is now. The song was produced by David Bardon at the Sunglasses for Jaws HQ studio in Hackney.

For our upcoming debut album, we want to showcase the range of our sounds. In ‘All My Sins’, each song is about a sinful transgression we’ve had, and that being resolved. For our next album we plan to blend our sounds together so they are present in each song”
