It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Amr Khaled, a prominent figure in the Egyptian music scene as a member of the rock band Bad Apple. The melodic progressive rock/metal band MEDIC announced this heartbreaking news through their Facebook page about the late Bad Apple frontman Amr Khaled just a day ago.
Bad Apple has played a pivotal role in our local music community prior 2011, with their electrifying performances drawing large crowds, especially at El Sawy Culurewheel. Fans would passionately sing along to their popular hits like “Feeling Dead,” “Fairytale,” “Evolution Incarnate,” and “One Last Time,” among others. We are privileged to have experienced their music and we want to share it with you to honor his exceptional songwriting and lasting influence on Egyptian music.
“If you say about a successful marketing band, you’ll remember “bad Apple-Amr Khaled”, he did a “sales marketing” for his band idea even at the almost non-social media existence…Their innovative marketing strategies drew a substantial audience to every performance reaching and being one of the most influential Egyptian Underground bands at that time!” – Tamer Brazily (Invaders)
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and fellow band members.
