People intend to underestimate others who aren’t like them. Anyone who chooses an unfamiliar bath for the crowd is considered an outcast and more likely to fail. Although it seems nonsensical, this idea is prevalent. Griffen Handshake’s “All My Friends Wanna Be Doctors” boldly delivers a message that says we can all choose the career we want, and our choices are valid.

Griffen Handshake is a duo from Pittsburgh who have known each other since forever, as they’re brothers. Millen and Arjun Schuchert are at the ages of 23 and 20, which demonstrates why they’ve made “All My Friends Wanna Be Doctors,” as they’re at the crossroads of their lives, especially Millen, who’s found people middling in his decisions and telling him what’s better to do with his own life.

“All My Friends Wanna Be Doctors” showcases how these young brothers are talented and were absolutely right to pursue music as a career. “All my friends they wanna be doctors while I’m just a wannabe punk rocker.” The lyrics say, and it’s true, they’re skilled punk rockers, and a bright musical future is ahead of them.

Along with the lyrics and vocals, the Punk, Alt-Rock hybrid sound delivers the message loudly. The twisted, electrifying riffs and head-banging drumming boost energy just like doctors’ prescriptions. The fast-paced texture is the kind of meditation that gets you going through the day. Griffen Handshake isn’t seeking to impress anyone; they just want to play music, but anyhow, their musicianship is crushing.

Vocally, they managed to weave between the vibrant, intense sound and the explicit, realistic lyrics in a charismatic performance. There’s a carefree attitude and a powerful tone that gets you engaged and imagining the single being played live. The lyrics are written brilliantly as they don’t underrate others’ decisions; they’re just proving a point and conveying an important notion:

“This is for the few of those who act overqualified.

We are all one, so don’t push us down.

We all want to do our separate things.”

No matter where you’re from or how old you are, I believe you’ll be able to relate to “All My Friends Wanna Be Doctors” and feel as though it expresses your thoughts and feelings, but in a more spirited sense.
