The band is composed of Micael Johansson on vocals and guitar, David James on vocals and guitar, and Rich Buckland on bass, keys, and programming. The dynamic trio hail from the city of Los Angeles, and they started playing in the band in 2022 after a long time of knowing each other.
“Many of the songs deal with loss and the whole album was a cathartic experience to work through life,” shared the band. “We also deal with universal existential themes written with a wry, dark humor. We try to create a timeless album that hopefully will bring joy to the listener.”
Their single off the album titled “Reaper” discusses the climate, while another single “Waterfall” talks about finding a sense of belonging in a disconnected world. The final single though, “Pandemonium” was described previously as “nostalgic and it sounds modern…the tempo of the song is perfectly balanced to get out the energy while also balancing the great melodic tunes and vocal performances.”
Our personal favorite must go to “Never Good Enough” which sounds like something that Pink Floyd would concoct. The song opens up with the breathy tone of the lead vocalist that immediately sets the scene perfectly for the sorrow that is about to ensue.
“We tried but it’s never good enough. You’re never satisfied,” lyric immediately transports us to a distant memory that we might not even hold, since it feels so relatable. Near the end of the song, a scream takes place in the lyrics “We never had a chance” that perfectly captures all the essence that the sentence holds. Epic!
The band’s influences range from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, to Oasis, Kiss, Ramones, The Clash, and – you guessed it – Pink Floyd!
